A Safe Space to Heal and Grow

Help me give my students a more nurturing, supportive environment filled with tools that promote social-emotional learning and help students feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their incredible resilience. Despite the challenges they face, they come to school each day ready to learn, to laugh, and to grow. They are kind, curious, and full of potential—even when their emotions feel too big or their circumstances feel too heavy.

As a school counselor, I see firsthand how much students benefit from having a space where they feel safe and supported.

With calming tools and sensory items, I can help students de-escalate when they feel overwhelmed. SEL games and books give them the language to understand and express their feelings. Snacks are simple, but powerful—sometimes a student just needs something to eat before they can engage or focus.

Each resource in this project will support a child’s whole self—emotionally, physically, and mentally—helping them build the skills they need not just to succeed in school, but to thrive in life. These are more than supplies—they are stepping stones toward self-regulation, healing, and confidence.
