This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
To help the social-emotional learning of our students, we are looking to bring fresh materials into our school’s counseling space. The goal is to create a welcoming space in which students can slow down, be in the moment, and learn positive ways of expressing their emotions.
The individuality of the student is incredibly important, which is why having a diverse selection of sensory tools is essential to meeting the various needs of our student body; whether through mindfulness, imaginative play, or whatever else a student may need to best assist in their social-emotional development.
These resources will help create a safe space for students in which they can learn and develop tools that will aid in emotional regulation, social development, and an overall sense of wellness in our counseling sessions.
