Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am looking to transform the learning environment and provide essential resources for my special education classroom at MLK Jr. Middle School. Located in a low-income area, our school serves a diverse population of students, many of whom face significant socioeconomic challenges. Our special education students, in particular, require specialized tools, adaptive materials, and unique learning opportunities to thrive. Your sponsorship will directly impact their academic, social, and emotional development, equipping them with the skills and confidence to lead fulfilling lives.
Students with diverse special needs (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, emotional disabilities) require tailored approaches that go beyond standard classroom supplies.
This includes snacks as positive reinforcements, carpeted areas for those experiencing sensory overload, and more accessible furniture.
