I teach second grade in an urban school. My school is in need of a lot of renovation. My classroom has old carpeting that is not only unattractive, but dirty and probably unsafe.
Many of my students have allergies and asthma. We spend a lot of time on the floor. We gather for morning meeting, work together in groups, relax and and read, and do many other activities on the carpet.
I am asking for a new rug so that my students can have a clean, safe, attractive place to sit. This will enhance their ability to learn in my classroom.
