This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will give students an opportunity to effectively manage their masterpiece work by providing them with a portable drying rack. This added storage will benefit the students by maximizing their art creating time and minimizing their clean-up time. They will also be able to secure their masterpiece and have a more seamless experience in painting class.

My students would be thrilled to have the chance to take a leadership role in the art room by managing the drying racks.

I teach art to 600 students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. Our school is a Title I school, so all of my students come from very diverse backgrounds and families. For many, art class is a place to express themselves freely, without being inhibited by language. It provides them with much needed confidence. Art class gives them an opportunity to have fun, socialize and feel good about themselves and the art they create.
