This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Creativity takes courage." - Henri Matisse
This could be the year that my students can have to opportunity to create more works in Watercolor and/or Acrylic paint.
My students are very artistic, creative and take on every challenge with grace.
They are the fuel that inspires me to be a better teacher every day. My students take pride in their artwork and get excited to share the finished product with their peers and other teachers on campus. Unfortunately, their artwork gets torn, damaged, or lost every time we do a painting project.
My Project
Each semester I teach between 110 to 150 students in my classroom. As you can imagine we need plenty of storage space. We are very lucky to have an amazing art studio with plenty of space, however the work is left out on the tables, counter tops, or the floor to dry and that is definitely not safe. Sometimes I have to avoid painting projects completely.
We need two art drying racks. The students could use the drying racks to store their masterpieces during drying time so that is is out of the way from other rotations and will stay in good condition until it is graded, goes to competition or the student takes the work home.
Creating allows students to explore their imagination, experiment with different materials, problem solve their way to success, and to express who they are and what they feel.
I want them to know how important their artwork is to me by providing their work with the care it deserves.
