Help me give my students a BlueAir purifier! We want our classroom to be a safe place for kids to learn and grow, and that includes providing an additional layer of air filtration!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a class of 32 smart, energetic 3rd graders at a charter school in Queens, New York that prioritizes the idea that all kids can learn, grow and bloom with a focus on becoming global citizens living in a sustainable community. Our integrated co-taught classroom is compromised of a diverse group of special and general education students. Our students are diverse in their learning needs, we have English Language Learners, students with a variety of learning differences, and social emotional needs.
My Project
Located in Queens, NY, we are an Integrated Co-Taught classroom supporting a diverse population of learners. We are an inclusive special ed classroom providing student centered, experimental, authentic experiences for those with learning differences. We have 32 kids in our classroom, and even with Covid protocols, we're looking to take extra precautions to protect the growing minds in our community.
An air purifier will help not only to provide clean air exchange, but also will put the anxious minds of our youngest learners at ease.
Providing a safe place includes ensuring that kids don't need to worry when they step into the room. Providing physical safety is the first step for kids to feel confident as learners, take risks, and own their own learning!
