Help me give my students a carpet area to sit during our class meetings. It gives each child their own place to sit safely and stay focused while learning.
My children come from diverse backgrounds and I strive to make our classroom a welcoming environment for all learners, where they have the opportunity to explore, investigate and collaborate with each other. Many require additional support to build the foundational skills needed to read and write. Daily practice and repetition help students to become confident in their skills and abilities.
Daily meetings help with speaking, listening, reading and writing, so a safe and accessible area where students can focus on learning will be helpful to provide students the best opportunities for learning.
My Project
This color coded carpet will help children with safe seating during our class meetings. It will provide an individual place for each child to sit. In kindergarten, many children are still learning about personal space.
The big, colored squares will help children to know exactly where they need to sit and to keep their body parts in their own space.
Children will be able to stay focused because they will each have their own special spots to sit and learn. It also will be a great tool to help with body awareness so that they are respectful of others.
