My Students

This is our first year teaching together in a 3rd grade ICT classroom. The impact of COVID-19 and unfinished learning has yet to be fully realized.

This year, more than ever, we have to be creative in how we encourage our students to engage with the curriculum and with each other.

We try our best to make sure every student has equal opportunities to discover a love of learning.

Our students are unique, inquisitive, compassionate, and creative with a variety of academic needs and learning styles. Our students come from culturally diverse backgrounds. Our students get especially excited when they can explore the classroom, taking time to notice all the materials with which they will embark on their 3rd grade adventures.

My Project

Returning to in-person teaching is vital for our young students, however, we must provide them with the safest environment possible! Experts recommend universal mask wearing and minimizing sharing of supplies for young, unvaccinated students. So, we want to honor those guidelines with a fun twist.

We want to make each student a mask that is personalized with their name and a star to celebrate our classroom theme "Lights, Camera, Action!" Additionally, we want to keep supplies separate, safe, and streamlined.

We will provide each student with a book baggy to stock up on favorites from our classroom library and a durable plastic bin to house all their supplies (notebooks, folders, etc). Keeping everyone happy, healthy, and safe during these uncertain times is our goal!
