Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a 2nd-grade teacher, I know how important it is to start the school year prepared and energized. A strong start sets the tone for the rest of the year, and this project will help us do just that!
Over the summer, I spend a lot of time organizing, printing, laminating, and setting up our classroom so that when my students walk in for Meet the Teacher night, they feel excited, welcomed, and ready to learn.
This project will provide us with the essentials we need to create a positive, smooth start to our year and continue meeting student needs all year long.
Here’s how your support will help:
Headphones: Many students come without headphones or theirs break during the year. Having extras ensures everyone can access technology-based learning.
White Cardstock & Sticker Paper: Used to create colorful, durable materials and labels for student journals and classroom organization. Prepping over the summer means we hit the ground running in August!
Paper Cutter: A huge time-saver for prepping materials efficiently at home or in the classroom.
Magnetic Hooks: These are classroom staples for displaying materials, organizing centers, and keeping our space functional.
Ring Pops for Meet the Teacher: A sweet, simple treat to welcome each student with a smile and a memory.
Birthday Gifts: I want every student to feel special on their birthday. Preparing gifts over the summer means no one gets missed during the hustle of the school year.
Student Prizes for PBIS: Positive behavior incentives are key to building a classroom culture of kindness, responsibility, and joy.
Mobile Dry Erase Board: We use this board for tracking Student Learning Objectives, modeling lessons, and keeping learning visible and interactive for students.
