A Rug To Share Character Learning and Have Engaging Conversations!

My Students

My students are a group of struggling learners that are working so hard to meet grade level standards. They enjoy nonfiction and learning about sharks and tigers. They really work hard as a team to help each other. They work great in partnerships and enjoy writing. It is the time of day when everyone is so engaged and happy. During read alouds, every child is so attentive because they enjoy being read to. They are eager to talk about chatacter and think deeply about books. This learning will happen on this rug.

My Project

This rug will be used as a meeting area for students to gather in whole group or small group.

Before students go off and explore, work in partnerships, or write, they will have a chance to meet and discuss their goals and learning targets on this rug.

On this rug is where we will share life lessons we can learn from great books with engaging conversations and shares. I will be implementing a lot of character building lessons to help my students grow into good citizens and kind people. This rug will be where it all begins. We will create many special moments on this rug.
