My Students
I love the way my first graders arrive everyday eager to learn. I especially love it when a student comes in the room and before we even get to greet each I hear, " What are we going to do today?". I know that student has been looking forward to the day. That makes me so proud to be doing what I'm doing and to have something exciting planned for the day.
My students are sweet eager beavers when it comes to learning.
They love structure and fun learning activities. They will give their all when they understand the directions and expectations. Some of these precious souls can overcome so much to come to school with a smile every day. Children are truly amazing in their resiliency and courage. I'll tell them all the time that they are my superheroes.
My students truly do teach me something every day. I am always dreaming of ways to make their the day in my classroom the best it can possibly be.
My Project
We will use this new rug for morning meeting, calendar time, interactive read aloud, and independent math and reading small group activities. Each of these learning activity times just work better when students can be seated on a rug together.
During morning meeting, students are sharing time together as a community.
Interactive read aloud and calendar time are times when students need to be close to the materials the teacher is using to teach. Students are also more comfortable during small group independent activities sitting on a nice warm rug.
