My students need a classroom library of 50 Spanish books, including "de Colores and Other Latin American Folksongs for Children", "La ciudad de las bestias (City of the Beasts)" and "Bolivar: Una Historia Que Parece UN Cuento".

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Spanish for Heritage learners, in an underfunded public High School in a large city of Illinois where 82.9% of our students receive free or reduced lunches.
Our library has a very limited number of books in Spanish and the local public libraries don't have enough books at the appropriate level.
A classroom library of books in Spanish will allow my students to practice their reading and improve their fluency with books at their level and interests. My students do not regularly read on their own, this classroom library will give them the 'hook' to start doing so and will inspire them to become lifelong readers.
With your donation you will provide a a pleasurable reading experience for 167 teens searching for a good book!
