Help me give my students a classroom rug, but not just a rug, a place to enjoy reading their books and listening to books read as they develop the love of books.
There are so many benefits to having a classroom rug. And not just any old classroom rug, a place to get lost in the magic of books! The use of a classroom rug is a daily occurrence in my class.
Year after year, the classroom rug is the hub of our learning community!
Not only do we use it to listen to our favorite stories being read aloud but also as a gathering place. It is a comfortable place for group activities like our meeting circle and other class discussions throughout the day. The rug I currently have, although clean, is old, worn and no longer plush. Aside from that, it is a little too immature for 7 and 8 year olds with ABCs. The rug I am requesting will be special because it will also align to our classroom theme colors, offering a calm, soft, cozy space for my students to sit or lie on, enhancing their sense of security and belonging in our classroom community.
