A “Read Aloud” Book for Everyone!

My Project

My 3rd-grade class consists of 30 general education and ICT students. We are a Title I school on the north shore of Staten Island. Many of my students are on grade level in reading, but some need extra support and benefit from an ICT setting with 2 teachers. Our students need a lot of hands-on activities, and differentiation to meet their needs. We want our children to love to read and when we are having class discussions, really be able to dig deep into the books we are reading. I am asking for a copy of "Rickshaw Girl" for each student in my class. That way during read aloud, they will have a copy in front of them to read along with me. When answering questions and discussing the book, they can reference certain parts of the story. I think if each student had a copy of the book, this will increase their fluency, comprehension, and ability to have deep discussions.
