This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have a beautiful library with a large collection of bilingual books for ages 4 through 14. It is mostly organized by Dewey Decimal System and author name (with some groupings by audience age). We want to ensure that our books remain beautiful for years to come, as well as make the library more user friendly by color coding books by popular genres.
Genrifying the library will help develop student independence and invite students to explore new titles, while revisiting old ones.
Using the spine labels will help make genres easily recognizable as well as making our shelves even more lively! The book covers, spine protectors, and other book repair materials will help maintain our current collection for future years. The acrylic book displays will help highlight some of the books.
