My students need the Chair Sox because noise is a constant distraction without them! The calendar would be fantastic for my first graders morning routines!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help bring order to our classroom!!! Everyone knows that children, especially young ones, need routine and a focal point. I'm hoping these products will give that to my students.
My students attend school in a world that no longer supports quiet and order.
We encourage the students to get up, move around and be themselves! This is why the chair balls are so important - it creates such a ruckus whenever the children get up and sit down that we need to stop everything!
My students would benefit highly from having such a beautiful, bright and colorful calendar. Morning routines really start the day off strongly and I believe these children would master the months and days of the year if they had a strong focal point.
In addition, I teach special education in a CTT classroom. Many of my students have autism, or other hearing and focus difficulties. The "chair sox" would really help eliminate the noise that they so often feel compelled to cover their ears over.
These special education children are also strong visual and tangible learners. They need something to look at, to feel in order to make a connection. I'm hoping the calendar will do just that.
My Project
I really believe that the "chair sox" will initiate a better sense of order and quiet in the classroom. Even at such times like going to lunch or going to the art class, the chairs scrape across the floor. Many of my students hold their hands over their ears in pain.
Right now we are using a paper calendar in our classroom. It's been used for several years and is ripping and most definitely has seen better days. I spend each month customizing upcoming holidays and events. With the magnetic calendar, we would have it for many, many years. As part of our daily morning routines I teach my students the days of the week, months, season, weather, events and holidays...and this calendar can do all of that. It truly would be a fantastic focal point for our morning routines in addition to any math lessons we have that focus on the calendar.
I would be honored to have my project completed.
The "chair sox" would really help maintain a sense of quiet and order in my classroom and hopefully my students, especially the special education ones, won't have to hold their hands over their ears anymore.
The calendar would be such a wonderfully addition to our classroom. Being able to use it every morning would really start our day off right.
Thank you in advance!
