Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have selected a variety of items that give my students access to new, high quality class supplies, and that reinforce their knowledge in writing and rhetoric. The craft supplies I selected will help students to create more vivid, creative presentations, with access to poster boards, markers, and construction paper. The additional storage will tidy up clutter in my classroom and make it a more comfortable, inviting space, where items that students need are easy to find. I hope to also make my classroom more inviting with the posters that I have selected. My classroom does not contain many decorations, and I want to combine decoration and function with lovely educational posters. I have also selected work books with exercises to help students strengthen their writing, focusing on the standards of rhetoric and narrative. The books I have selected will help me gain more strategies to support my students and improve their writing skills.
These supplies will give my classroom a much needed facelift, not only by providing new, high quality supplies that my students can use for upcoming creative projects and presentations, but also by decorating my classroom with vibrant and aesthetically pleasing posters that review the topics we're currently learning about (figurative language, parts of speech, etc).
As I am a teacher in a Title I school, supplies sometimes run low and I don't always have the means to buy them for my students, let alone the decorations that would so enhance my classroom. My students are sweet, wonderful kids, and I can see how much they need support with their writing skills. Please help me give my students access to the quality supplies and inviting classroom that they deserve.
