Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 1st - 5th Severe/Profound Special Education. My kids face many challenges each day, but you would never know it. They are creative, active, and very curious. They are extremely hard workers and love to learn. The love and kindness they show each other in our classroom is a sight to see every day. In our classroom, we celebrate everything to ensure their confidence continues to grow. I am amazed by the big and little things they accomplish.
I know many teachers say this about their kids, but I truly have the BEST kids around!
They strive to do everything their non-disabled peers can do, and it's my job to give them the tools to do so. They deserve the world!
My Project
To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I could use the items listed in this project to help support their various learning styles, cognitive levels, engagement levels, and sensory needs. All of the items listed in this project will be utilized by my students at school. Some of my kids need the sensory tools to learn, and some of them need the sensory tools to calm down and regroup.
Each one of my kids learns in a variety of ways, and they are all on different levels.
To make an upcoming unit more engaging, I could use the quiz cards that require the power pens for the kids to have engaging independent practice. The rocking chairs and weighted cuddle puppy items will be utilized while working and in our calm down corner. The other literacy and math resources listed will provide my kids with engaging ways to learn.
To bring my dream learning activity to life, I'd love to get the items listed. This project helps give me the resources to teach my kids in a variety of ways, and it also allows me to meet a lot of their sensory needs.
