My Students
One of my favorite things about public education is how students learn to be around any and all people from any and all backgrounds. My school is a Title I school which means we have a large portion of our population receiving free or reduced cost lunch, before and after school care, and many are homeless or live in unstable homes.
My school focuses on the learner dispositions of grit, taking ownership, reflecting, motivation, and self-control.
We believe that these life skills will help our students become successful, well-adapted, life-long learners.
No matter what background any of my students come from I believe that with hard work they can make their futures what they want them to be.
My Project
Having a printer in my classroom will allow for students to quickly and easily print drafts to edit writing assignments. Additionally, the dice will allow me to do several different quick math fluency activities. The protective writing covers will allow to re-use worksheets multiple times with students and save on paper waste.
These supplies may seem simple, but they are a blessing in a classroom where teachers are often pressed for time or need just one more page of a worksheet for the class.
