A Positive Start To The School Year

Help me give my students candy treats, motivational pencils and cute erasers to hep them start the year off on a positive note.

My Students

I teach in an urban area. All my students receive free lunches. They often lack the basic needs that we take for granted. They come to school hungry and unprepared to learn. Their parents cannot provide them with the basic tools they need to succeed in school. Many of my students, who are only six years old, have already attended two or three schools.

However, they come to school curious, wanting to learn and explore in a place that is safe and caring.

I do this by creating an environment that fosters their natural love for learning, a place where they can feel secure and cared about.

My Project

I like to start of the school year by giving my students a special poem. We are a Leader In Me school. The poems uses the Leader In Me healthy habits to describe how wonderful our school year will be. Attached to the poem is a bag of motivational treats that help us get the school year off to a positive start.

Welcome to our room I am so glad you are here, I made a little goodie bag to help kick off our HEALTHY HABITS this year.

The eraser is to remind you, that it is ok to make mistakes, We will Begin With the End in Mind, no matter what it takes.

The bubble gum means we will stick together and work hard as a team, it shows we Synergize, working towards a common theme.

The smarties to remind you how smart I think you are, work hard and do First Things First, remember to aim far.

The Jolly Ranchers keep you laughing, with hard comes lots of fun, if we are Proactive and smiling in the end we will all have won.

The starburst is to show you that in my eyes you are a star, do your best, think Win Win and stay just the way you are.

The sharpener represents the way we will Sharpen The Saw getting physically sharp everyday!
