My Project

For the upcoming school year, it's my goal to incorporate a 'soft start' with my students. Covid put so much unexpected pressure on students, and to combat schedule changes, teachers have been trying to optimize every second of the school day. From the moment kids walk in the door to the moment they leave, they're being drilled. The past few years of school have been unlike any other, and I've found that kids who start their day with a 'put your mind at ease activity' are more comfortable and productive throughout the day.

The Plus Plus Mini Maker Tubes (construction STEM/STEAM toys ocean, insect, elephant, red fox, eagle, panda, flamingo, and crab) will be used as bell-ringer activities as my students ease into their school day.

The class can execute their normal morning routines while activating their brains at their own pace. After breakfast is eaten, homework is checked, and desks are readied, kids can grab a tube to bring to their desks for some unstructured STEM exploration.

Students will use these sets to discover and communicate STEM-related principles by exploring, investigating, and solving tasks related to the world around them. These project resources will help students set goals and succeed at their own differentiated level, allowing all children to realize the innate potential that will propel them in their future educational endeavors.
