Since COVID-19 I have found students are having such a hard time to regulate themselves. My classroom does not have a rug- my students have trouble finding a space that is their in our room because they do not have a designated spot. This daisy rug is not only cute and matches our class "kind-er-garden" theme but it always lets students know where their spot is. Other students will not get into their space anymore.
I am especially excited for the calming strips to help students self regulate their emotions.
Emotions get very high in Kindergarten. They are still learning how to use their words and work with other kids. These strips will allow them to work on self regulation and getting back on track with their emotions.
Another way to help with self regulation is the weighted pad! Sometimes they need a little more than the calming strip. I hope by having this pad they can learn to get it when they feel out of control and can come back down.
5 and 6 year olds MOVE, they need the movement. The wiggle feet will help get their feet moving when they are needing to be at the tables. Having 4 is a great start for my classroom!
