My students are loving, curious, motivated, and creative! Students range from five to six years old in our classroom, and for many, this is their first real school experience. We offer bus services that bring students from all over the city with different backgrounds and challenges. About 90% of my students come from low-income families.
Although my students are exposed to different learning strategies and are constantly learning, they need hands-on activities and a safe environment t focus and emerge as strong readers.
By having this extra support we will be able to provide them with opportunities to meet their needs.
Different learners and different students bring their own process in how they work and think. I want to offer my students opportunities to expand their thinking and challenge them to think academically and creatively.
My Project
I am moving to kindergarten this year from Preschool, and my class needs a prominent place to gather for the whole group and a place to hold their leveled library. The carpet is large enough for my class and it also will double as a spot to to read from their new leveled library.
The leveled library will help organize books for reading and give them freedom to choose just the right book at their level as it will be easy to find in the new storage case.
