My Project
In my classroom, learning goes far beyond textbooks. I teach at a Title I school where many of my scholars face personal challenges, emotional hurdles, and limited support outside of school. My mission is to build a space where every child not only learns but feels seen, celebrated, and safe.
This project includes simple but powerful tools to support instruction, create emotional safety, and foster joy.
A presentation clicker will help me stay organized and accountable while teaching with slides, and a teacher stand will allow me to model skills more clearly so students can see exactly what success looks like. To ease transitions and protect my voice, I’m requesting an LED lamp that will serve as a visual attention signal.
Some items are meant to support classroom culture in meaningful ways: thank-you cards to model gratitude toward our classroom volunteers, and birthday chair covers, pencils, and wristbands to make every child feel special, even when no one from home is there to celebrate with them.
To better support emotional regulation, I’m requesting calming posters and fidgets, giving students positive tools to manage big feelings. Finger lights will add a fun, hands-on touch to reading, and mesh bags will help students take responsibility for their supplies and stay organized. A mouse will make it easier for them to use my laptop during activities, while a filing cabinet will help me keep materials accessible and in order.
Lastly, balloons for open house will help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere at the start of the year, helping students feel excited and proud to be part of our classroom community. Every item in this project is chosen with care and purpose. Thank you for helping me give my students a classroom that teaches them more than academics.
