My Project
A classroom rug is an important learning center and we are in need of one! A classroom rug will give my students a place that is comfortable and safe and will create a space for our learning community. My students will start and end their day on this rug. They will listen to stories and share their own. They will connect with texts, share their thinking and collaborate with their peers.
Having a classroom rug means my students will have the opportunity to have a space where they can gather to connect with their learning and each other more closely and personally.
As of now, we don't have a space where we can gather, and often times my students have a hard time seeing the board or the story we are reading because they are too far away. Therefore, by having this rug I can be closer to them which I strongly believe will help them stay focused and engaged in the lessons. It will also help them become confident speakers as they will get the opportunity to participate in many whole group discussions on this rug.
