Help me give my students a place to call home! A large classroom rug will give us a place to gather as a class for whole-group read-alouds and discussions and additional seating options will help with small groups.
A classroom should feel like home. Our children spend so much time in the classroom. It should feel warm and inviting, like home!
By providing my students with a large rug upon which to gather as a class, we can build our community and create a loving environment.
When we are not at the carpet, I will be using other areas of the classroom to work with small groups of students, to enhance personal learning goals and differentiate instruction. By using other materials, such as stools, dry erase boards, and floor pillows, students will be able to move around the classroom comfortably while still focusing on important instruction.
