This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At Alba, we love each and every one of our students. Our school has a unique and meaningful purpose: we support students who have struggled in traditional comprehensive school settings. These students come to us with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, and they are often referred when they need more support than other schools can provide.

Here at Alba, we focus on a trauma-informed approach to care—one that nurtures healing, builds resilience, and fosters personal growth.

The counseling center is a key part of that mission, and your donations help us make it a safe, calming, and restorative space.

The items you donate play a vital role in helping our students regulate, reset, and reengage with their learning. Sensory items will support students who are deregulated by helping them learn to self-regulate in safe, developmentally appropriate ways. Calming lamps, diffusers, and water features will create a peaceful environment, offering students a soothing space that allows them to breathe, relax, and regain control. Fidgets and mindfulness coloring activities will give students healthy ways to calm their brains and bodies, helping them manage stress and big emotions in a constructive manner. The sanitizing wipes will ensure that all items and shared spaces stay clean and safe, making them welcoming and ready for every student who needs them.

At our school, our goal is to ensure every student gets the support they need and that they leave the counseling center with the tools to continue their day successfully—academically, emotionally, and socially. Thanks to your generosity, we can make this vision a reality. Your donations help us care for our students in ways that are thoughtful, healing, and truly transformative.
