My Project
Creating a cozy corner for a Preschool Collaborative Classroom where there are special needs and general education students in one classroom will be a great way to manage their behavior. Calm-down corners will allow my students to be aware of their own emotions and is a positive tool for learning self-regulation skills. In our classroom, students need to learn how to identify their emotions so they can better regulate themselves. Having a calm-down corner with cushions, a feelings mirror, fidgets, sensory beads, and other social-emotional support items will provide a safe space for students to process their emotions and relax their bodies for a few minutes.
