My Project
Many of our students have shown remarkable strength and perseverance in the face of hardship. My school has a high population of students who are living in poverty, but when they come to my class, they are just kids ready to learn. The older children will learn to see the world through the eyes of another person but remembering how they felt on their first days of school, and how having supplies ready is so important. It will help them empathize and show compassion to younger students, creating a more harmonious school community.
My students often do not have enough clothing to last the entire school week.
Incorporating the operation of a clothes closet into the curriculum encourages service learning, wherein students actively apply classroom knowledge to address real-world needs. This hands-on approach fosters a deeper understanding of empathy and compassion as students witness the direct impact of their actions on others' lives.
