This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager and excited to try new things. They quickly learn that in their gifted pullout class, I will not go through directions step by step with them. I will depend on them to figure things out. My confidence in their ability to solve problems allows them to develop their own self-confidence.
My students crave hands-on learning opportunities.
As students in a Title I school, they often do not have as many learning life experiences as other students. When given access to new situations, they love to try different things until they get the desired result.
My Project
As a pull out gifted teacher, my students may see me for anywhere from 2 to 5 hours a week. During this time, they may receive instruction in up to 5 different types of classes. We do a lot of projects that may last for several weeks. They need a way to keep their work in progress from getting lost.
My students need items that will allow them to easily access the needed materials.
The binders and binder dividers will allow the students to organize papers in order to find them when needed. The caddies will allow them to share supplies, such as markers, colored pencils, glue, and scissor at their tables.
