My students need their teaching materials within a space in the classroom. An Iris 4 storage drawer will allow me to sort and label all teaching materials needed when teaching applied behavior analysis verbal language.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Children learn in so many different ways. It takes a true teacher to take time to observe their abilities and interest within the special education classroom.

My students are all eager to use manipulatives, they need the tools to help increase their verbal communication.

The majority of the students are on the autism spectrum and learning functional skills and would like to increase their ability by providing them with the appropriate visual representations to understand language.

Children of autism think outside of the box.

They are eager to discover and excited to put their skills into action.

My Project

Teaching without the clutter. With all the assessments, data collection and teaching material their is no space to put it all in my classroom. I have students materials stored in boxes because of the lack of space. I need help getting rid of the clutter and making a secure place for all the teaching tools I have.

Learning takes place when everything is in place.

The organizational drawers will allow me to store teaching materials such as picture visual cards, objects used to help teach verbal language to my students with autism. The mesh organizational shelf will help store assessment binders and students data binders. Organization will shift the focus on learning than searching for materials through box.

When teaching children with autism we must be quick to adapt. Materials need to be sorted and available at hand the storage containers will help increase best teaching practice.
