My Students

Do you remember getting cozy under your sheets reading your favorite books over and over again? You would sink not only into your bed but also your stories. Your mind entered an imaginary world of wizards, fairies, and space. As a teacher, I want to recreate that environment and I need your help.

I am an elementary school kindergarten teacher in a high needs school in New York.

This year is my second year as an educator at my school. I teach approximately 15 kindergarten students in a general education classroom. My students come from a very low income area of Manhattan that was highly impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

My Project

People forget how important something as simple as a rug could be. It is something that is used multiple times a day and for various reasons. Students learn, celebrate, and read on our classroom rug. Our current rug is stained, puling, and lost its luster.

No school year is as important as kindergarten!

This is the year that will shape a child's attitude about school and about learning. Making it the most positive and nurturing experience is a way to insure that these children will continue to love learning and strive to do their best in school.
