My students need a carpet that is big enough to accommodate each of them in our classroom meeting area -- the heart of our classroom!

My Students
A typical day in my second grade classroom is all kinds of busy and fun! Children are actively engaged in learning through whole group lessons, small group discussions, and independent or group work stations throughout all of the content areas.
I have the JOY of teaching 24 spunky second graders in Cumming, Georgia.
Each of my students bring such a wonderful diversity to our classroom community through their cultural experiences, life experiences, and learning styles. I just love teaching this age group of kiddos! They are so eager to learn and really love being at school. Our school is located in a rapidly growing area which means our student population is getting bigger and bigger each year. This makes it critically important to create a learning environment that is comforting and welcoming to all students.
My Project
Our meeting area is the heart of our classroom! This carpet will be used each and every day, multiple times each day. It is home to many morning meetings, dance parties, partner activities, independent and whole group learning, and interactive read-alouds! When we do all of these activities, I love to gather the children close. A wonderfully big classroom rug would allow ALL of the children to find a comfy spot to sit, while still having some personal space around them.
Donations to this project will allow us to have a rug in our classroom meeting area where all my kiddos can have a comfortable space to sit.
Our meeting area is such an integral part of our classroom community; it will be amazing for the children to be able to sit as comfortably as possible in order to focus wholly on their learning.
