Elementary school students should spend just as much time on the classroom rug as they do at their desks! I recently moved into a classroom with an old and worn out rug, and due to budget cuts, my school will not be able to provide me with a new one this year.
I have 25 students in my first grade classroom.
They are eager to learn and love coming to school each day. My school has approximately 250 students from Pre-K to fifth grade. It is a Title 1 school and approximately 95% of the students receive free lunch.
My Project
We need a new classroom rug that seats 30 students. The classroom carpet is the place where all of our instruction takes place. Whether we're learning how to add and subtract in math or editing a paragraph in writing, we're gathered on the rug. The rug is also the place in the classroom that some students prefer to read at.
Please help my new class of 6 and 7 year olds start the school year off right!
A new, colorful classroom carpet would brighten up the room and provide "a place for everyone" year after year!
