My classroom is filled with curious and diverse young learners who love to learn. My students are kind and love to collaborate and problem-solve as they engage in active learning activities.
Each day with my students brings new adventures and new experiences which we explore together.
It is my goal as a teacher to further extend the love of learning to my students so they are able to not only have successful academic careers, but achieve their own personal goals and dreams.
My Project
Our classroom needs an upgrade to better serve the diverse students in my classroom! Some of my students have sensory needs. The carpet, pillows, and wobble cushions will not only bring some much needed color to our classroom, but meet the needs of my students who prefer and need various textures to focus, concentrate, and just be awesome.
Meeting the needs of all of my diverse students is a priority so that they are able to learn and grow to the best of their ability.
Our classroom also needs additional high-interest, diverse books. A Boy Called Bat is one such example. This book focuses on a boy named Bat who happens to have autism. Additionally, the Zoey and Sassafras books help to bring diversity and multiculturalism into our classroom library.
Finally, we need ink to print the students own writing! As students share their lives and experiences through their own writing, they open up windows to the world. This allows students to explore each others diverse worlds while celebrating each other in an inclusive and welcoming learning environment.
