My Project
Our classroom is our home for my 1st grade family. Like at home, students have many different areas where they can learn, explore, and play. Students spend a lot of their day in various locations around our room- sitting at their tables, on the carpet, or even laying on pillows on the floor.
Before students can learn, they need to feel safe and welcome.
This project will allow my students to have an extra table for their center work, as well as new stools to use when they are meeting with me at my teacher table. Currently, we have stools that are being held together by zip ties. They are wobbly and unsafe. Students often fall off of them or tip over. New stools will help students stay safe and engage more in their learning, rather than worrying about what they are sitting on.
By receiving a small table, students will now have a brand new space to gather with friends and complete their work together. There will now be more than enough seating options and areas for students to explore and learn at in our classroom home.
