My Students

I teach 4th grade in rural South Carolina. Many of my students have limited access to technology at home and do not have access to high speed internet. My classroom incorporates technology alongside other traditional teaching methods in order to keep my students engaged and on the path to college and career readiness.

When used responsibly and purposefully, technology has a dynamic impact on learning.

It is my desire that my students take ownership of their learning. My hope as their teacher is that they will deepen their understanding of curriculum as they investigate through many mediums, one of which is technology.

My Project

My students use technology across the curriculum to create, investigate and explore. We use technology in every subject area that I teach. Students research, draft, edit, and publish writing using our laptops. They research periods of history and use their research to complete projects. They investigate science concepts and practice math skills using online games and tutorials. Students set learning goals and track their progress in data notebooks. These are just a few of the many ways in which we use technology for learning.

Adding a wireless photo printer to our available classroom technology will enhance both our classroom environment and allow students to easily personalize projects and data notebooks.

This will be yet another way to incorporate technology into our daily routine. We will use the printer to keep displays current and relevant. This printer will also allow our classroom historian, one of our students, to document all of the wonderful activities that we share throughout the year. Students will also be able to include photos in their research projects. Please consider giving to our project.
