My Students
Returning to a classroom teaching position after working as a support math teacher is something I am very excited for this fall! I am lucky that I will be working with an amazing group of fifth grade students that are eager to learn mathematics!
Many of my students are coming from low-income households or are English language learner students.
Coming from a low-income household should not be an excuse for these students to not be successful in school and they deserve all the wonderful tools to help them be successful in math.
My Project
A document camera is a useful classroom tool, especially in the digital and remote instruction era that we have entered. I want to provide my students with the best possible instruction and I believe that this document camera could help me do that.
A document camera will be able to be used during remote instruction through live video meetings and will also be able to be used when in a classroom setting to model mathematical problems and thinking.
I will also be able to record what is modeled during a math lesson for students and their families to view on their own time if they can't attend a live video meeting or if they need additional review of a concept while completing independent work.
I hope to help my students develop a love of mathematics through consistent and engaging instruction in whatever setting we are in.
