This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach an inquisitive group of third graders in an inner-city public school in Arizona. With over ninety percent of our students receiving free or reduced-rate lunch, one might think that our students are poor, but that would be far from the truth! What our children lack in money, they make up for in their curiosity and desire to learn! My room is the home for the gifted students at my grade level, and they have an insatiable appetite for information.

My Project

Today's world is so different from the world that was just six months ago, and so are the needs of my students.

My students need to learn about each other, their emotions, and the character traits they need in these times more than ever.

These books will help me to do just that. They will give us an engaging avenue to spark meaningful conversations that will support us developing understandings about racial equality, the power of mindset, and ways to identify and deal with emotions in ways that are healthy.
