it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Seventh grade is such a wonderful age to teach. It’s always an adventure! My 7th grade Literacy students love to read books with strong and dynamic characters just like them, they take delight in having stories read to them, and they enjoy writing personal narratives and fiction stories. As a class we strive to be our best, to respect others, to focus on achieving our goals, to show vision, and to encourage others. My students inspire me every single day!
My Project
It is a well known secret amongst middle school teachers that our students love to have stories read to them. My goal is to read aloud one picture book a day to my students. The picture books I’m asking for my classroom will provide my students with opportunities to hear what good readers sound like, to practice core reading skills, and to promote social and emotional learning. I’m envisioning bringing the stories to life for my students and the rich literary discussions we will have as a class. My hope is for my students to love reading as much as I do.
