My Project

Hello, as a pre-k teacher we are required to have something in the class for our children to care for. We have tired plants but they don't need attention everyday so the children don't get the full experience. I feel that with a hamster that will need our love and attention daily this would be a great opportunity. I am getting the hamster. I just need help to supply all of his start up needs.

Most of my students are very sweet, loving, and kind.

We have a few that are in the process of learning this lesson. I feel that caring for something outside of themselves will help them develop more empathy and understand relationships. These are skills they can apply to their peers as well. I am eager to see the smiles on their faces, hear their curiosity flow with questions, and help them through this experience. It will also help to encourage their vocabulary development and give them more to talk about.
