My Project

When I was studying to become a teacher, I knew I wanted to teach in a Title I school. I felt that the most impact I could possibly have was on students that needed stability, education, and someone to truly believe in them. Most of my students struggle in poverty, and school comes harder to them than an average student because of it.

Almost all of my students use school as their safe haven, and they depend on school to be routine, reliable, and safe.

They are often shifted from home to home and some students are unsure of their next meals. We have backpack programs for them to bring home food.

Students often don't come to school with supplies. For some, homework is never completed since they live in a stressful environment. School is often placed on the back burner with our students. I try to instill daily the importance of their education and help them to know they are all capable of setting goals and reaching their dreams.

All of my students deserve a clean space to learn classroom and a podium to lead group work in.
