Help me give my students … a larger, deeper sensory table for more students to explore with more toys at our sensory center in preschool.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Simons's classroom raised $767
This project is fully funded
My Project
My preschool has a standard, small size sensory table that has enough space for two children to comfortably play, which is not enough in a full-sized classroom of 16 students who all want a turn at the sensory table during play time. Sensory play is an important part of a child’s development. It helps them develop fine motor skills as they hold, lift, pour, pack objects and sand/water. It helps their cognitive development as they practice problem solving skills with how to balance and manipulate objects. It also has a calming effect as it helps a child regulate their sensory input levels. In my classroom, there is usually a few students waiting in line to go to the sensory center. With this full-size sensory table, four students can cooperatively play at the same time with ample space.
By donating to this project, you are supporting the sensory development in preschool students.
Our class will be able to have more students allowed at our sensory center and fit more toys in this full-sized sensory table.
My students will be so excited to play in this larger sensory table. It has a greater depth, which will allow us to fill it with more water. The students will have more to scoop, pour, and yes, splash! We will be able to create larger imagination landscapes in the table. It will also help our preschool class with our weekly sanitation of toys. By having a greater space to dip toys in, we will be done with our toy sanitation dip in half the time.
