This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Who want to sit in an old, dirty, dusty, stained, and stinky carpet?? I know that I wouldn't want to. How about you?? Yet my students need to for most of their whole group instruction.

My students live in the inner-city.

They all qualify for free federally funded lunches and live far below the lines of poverty. They live in a part of town that is nestled among factories and near railroad tracks. In addition, they spend countless hours at school and due to high gang activity and violence they seldom get the chance to play outdoors. They are amazingly resilient and always offer a smile. They work hard to overcome their shortcomings and have hopes that through education they can live a better life in the future.

My Project

I am requesting " A Place for Everyone Classroom Carpet for 30." This carpet will help each child have a place to sit in a nice a clean way. In primary grades students receive much of their phonics instruction as a whole group, story time, and language development are all instructed in the same fashion. I want my students to be able to sit in a clean carpet with out dust, bugs, and unpleasant odors. Please help my students have a place to learn that will be conducive.

A Place for Everyone Classroom Carpet for 30 is a much needed resource for our classroom.

Each students will have their very own place to sit and learn comfortably. It is essential for learning to read, collaboration, and story time. Please help me provide the best learning environment for my students regardless of the zip code they live in.
