My students need 60 spiral notebooks, an electric pencil sharpener, poster paint, solar system notepads, construction paper, index cards, pencils, and pens.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Jones's classroom raised $548
This project is fully funded
Thank you for taking a few minutes to read this proposal. My name is Ms. J and I teach in an inner city school in Texas. As the year comes to a close and I look back on the one thing that was lacking in my classroom, it was supplies.
This time of year we are struggling to find pens and markers that still write and pencils with lead that will not break out when sharpened. If that is not enough, our pencil sharpener has decided to stop working.
So as the year closes I turn my sights on the future, I would like to start next year off in a positive light. Thus, I am asking for school supplies that will give my students a boost in the right direction. I know that next year when I send the school supply list home some of my student’s parents will once again send in notes stating that they do not have to money to supply their children with what is needed.
I know this is hard to swallow, it was for me the first year I worked at this school. Please understand that 95% of my student’s parents are on welfare which means there is not much left at the end of the month for pens and pencils.
It would be a wonderful to know that there will be pencils and pens for each student along with a notebook, for journaling; a notepad, for taking notes; index cards, for vocabulary cards, construction paper and paints for the creation of artifacts; and of course a working pencil sharpener.
This is but a drop in the bucket of all the supplies that will be needed for my students since I am a Science teacher and we do many experiments over the year but this will get them off on the right path.
Again, thank you for taking the time to read this and please if you can assist me in starting next year off on a sharp note.
