Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I enjoy rewarding my students with sticker incentive charts and having them earn fun prizes. This is to help motivate students to work hard and do a good job learning. The prizes they earn can include anything from candy, stickers, treasure box prizes, and snacks.

In addition to the incentive charts, I love building community in my classroom and creating a safe space for everyone.

One of the ways is by having snacks available to kids to earn a reward. Let's face it, food rewards are often some of the BEST motivators for all of us.

Another consideration is that it is hard for kids to learn when they are hungry or food insecure at home. This is why I have snacks available so kids can take what they need.

I also have snacks available to kids that did not get a chance to eat breakfast. They also can take a breakfast bar home in case there isn't enough food in their home over the weekend.

The Calm Strips will be used to help kids center themselves and relax. Children are under a lot of pressure, and Calm Strips are an easy way to help give them relief.
