My Project
With a growing population of non-English speakers in our low-income community, our school needs to nurture these learners by making the English as a Second Language classroom feel welcoming! Nearly one out of four of our students enter our school speaking little to no English. Besides teaching them a brand new language, we are also trying to help them meet the standards required to graduate from high school.
Please help me fund a comfy reading corner and stock it with snacks and Spanish-language texts.
We hope this will encourage students to read for pleasure and foster their love for learning all subjects.
