My Project
My Kindergarten and first grade students love getting a personal tub of Play Doh to start the school year! We use the play clay in our art classroom for a variety of activities.
In the beginning of the year the Play Doh is used to help ease the transition to a new, bigger environment.
Some students need this clay as a fidget to keep their hands busy and behaviors on track. Later in the year we utilize the play doh to understand how real clay works- such as using a slab, a coil, etc.
Having Play Doh in the art room for my smallest and youngest students is so beneficial! It helps them to approach art making in a playful manner. It also helps them to be more prepared for our ceramic/clay lessons as the. year progresses.
