This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many years ago, Donorschoose funded a Microsoft Surface for my classroom. It transformed my teaching. The Surface made it so that students could more clearly see notes and visual representations of math. It allowed me to share all class notes online so students could refer to them later. It also allowed me to pass the tablet around the class and let students write on it, so that students could then display their math to the class while they did it. Unfortunately, that Surface that was bought many years ago is on the Fritz.

My classroom needs a new and up-to-date device that isn't crashing constantly.

The Microsoft Surface that we use is now 6 generations behind the current model. It is not able to support many of the features that newer programs demand, and several of the ports are broken. We need a reliable device that works every day.

With your help, we will purchase this state of the art technology and bring our classroom into the 2020s.
